Counselling is available via video call or teleconferencing.

Longer sessions can be arranged as required. There are a limited number of fee-subsidised places we offer to clients who are experiencing financial difficulty.

FAQs

  • Not yet. The major counselling associations are working on this, and progress is being made, but it is not currently possible to receive a rebate.

  • No, you do not require a referral.

  • There are many similarities between these roles, and either option may be suitable to treat the majority of clients. However, a counsellor’s role is to provide support for clients across a broad spectrum of emotional challenges through varying psychotherapeutic modalities. A psychologist follows a medical model and can diagnose and treat psychological disorders. Counsellors will sometimes recommend a client visits a psychologist or other medical professionals, if that client requires further assistance.

  • When we are in a challenging place, we could talk to partners and friends, but at times like this, most of us don’t. Seeing a counsellor gives you the chance to share the problem with someone who can provide a caring, non-judgmental and safe environment to explore your options.
